As part of a course in social and aesthetic interaction i created 5 different experiments. The course requirement was to use the keywords “Organic”, “Dirty”, “Fragile”, “Magical” and “Japanese” to create 5 different prototypes and 5 sketchnotes drawings to illustrate the keywords and the concept of experimentation.
I choose to deal with volume control as interaction theme and experiment with alternative ways to adjust volume on a stereo.
I created the prototypes using an Arduino board connected to a computer, where the computer worked as the stereo. I used ping sensors, motion detectors and bend sensors to detect the users actions. The exact interaction of each experiment is described on the poster.
Below are the pictures, drawings, posters and video i created through the course.
All prototypes, except the “dirty” are functional.
